Welcome back sports fans, as I, Skeezix, walk you through some of the exciting results and developments of the first week of Blood Bowl here in the Asylum. There were touchdowns, injuries and deaths galore, read on for all the action.

The Kornish Pixies

The Vixen Bleeders
2
Surprisingly, this match gave those in attendance the most hits to cheer for in the first round. The Bleeders held the ball for a full 50% of the match, while their ability to avoid the Pixie hits was their key to victory. The Pixies played most of the match down a player after beastman Peter Pettigrew was killed by a vicious hit from Nami. The Pixies’ Neville Longbottom had an up and down game, being KO’d twice, but also registering a sack on Antianara Alcinoe. But in a key moment, the hometown crowd threw the ball deep into the Pixie backfield and Bulma was able to collect the ball and score. Alcinoe took out her frustration on Albus Dumbledore, but the foul was caught and she was ejected from the game. Minotaur Ron Weasly also had a good game, stunning many, but was ultimately dispatched by Sakura before she ran away from the scrum to score the second touchdown.
Player of the match: Sakura, with a touchdown, 36 rushing yards, and a minotaur crushing.
Honorable mention: The Amazonian crowd, setting up the first half touchdown with a beautiful throw.

Quoth the Skaven
2
The Baltimore Oreos

The first round matchup between the fastest teams in the competition certainly looked like a match between inexperienced teams. Still, despite what can only be called atrocious blocking technique on both sides (I mean, come on, thrown rocks caused more injuries in this game than the two teams), the athleticism was apparent, as they scampered for a combined 212 yards rushing. Ratticus Finch was the epitome of this erratic blocking, as he knocked himself out attempting a sack in the first half, only to come back later and deliver the big hit that freed the ball and allowed Roderick Rusher to score the game-winning TD. The skaven team was down players for most of the game, but managed to fight their way to an even 8-8 scrum in time for the pivotal final drive.
Player of the match: Roderick Rusher, with 2 TD and 58 rush yards.
Honorable mention: Poot, with 4 injuries inflicted on 5 blocks.

The Centaurions

The BloodBasket Players

This was the highlight match of the week, as the blood flowed freely, and the players left in body bags. Great for viewing… as long as you weren’t a fan of the home team. The BloodBasket Players did look to be the more athletic team, outrushing the Centaurions 66-64, and outpassing them 6-0, but the Centaurions overcame this with sheer violence. They caused 4 casualties to the orcs’ 0, including killing both the black orc Zuko and the orc ball handler, Mr. Paravicini. The orcs were obviously in need of some blocking tips, as they caused as much damage trying to hurt the Centaurions as the Centaurions did themselves. Mr. Paravicini was killed trying to attack Zhukh Blackarm, and Romeo was dealt a concussion trying to attack Warrnak Ironpunch, the very same Ironpunch who killed Zuko earlier. Some lack of finesse cost the Chaos team, as two passes into the endzone came up wanting, but the rushing of Gret Greenblood was enough, as the chaos team outnumbered the orcs 11-7 heading into the second half.
Player of the match: Warrnak Ironpunch, 13 blocks, 1 kill and 1 concussion inflicted
Honorable mention: Zhukh Blackarm, 2 blocks, 1 kill
